What Is Smile Design?

Smile design is the first concept that comes to mind when cosmetic dentistry is mentioned. The aim of smile design is to shape the teeth and gums in harmony with the person’s face.

The following steps are followed in smile design:

  • Patient assessment: The dentist evaluates in detail the health of the patient’s teeth and gums, smile line, lip shape, facial features and overall aesthetic perception.
  • Photographs and modeling: Photographs of the patient smiling are taken from different angles and an intraoral scan is performed. Based on this information, the patient’s current smile and the planned smile are modeled digitally.
  • Treatment plan: Based on the patient’s wishes and needs, the treatments required to achieve the planned smile are determined. These may include various methods such as teeth whitening, gum aesthetics, orthodontics, veneers or crowns, and implants.
  • Treatment: The planned treatments are carried out carefully by experienced dentists.
  • Check-ups and follow-up: After treatment is completed, the patient is invited for regular check-ups to help maintain the results.

Aesthetic Smile Design

Aesthetic Smile Design, also known as the Hollywood Smile, is a discipline where dentistry and aesthetics meet.
